The Factum: A Reality of Space and Time, curated by Niccolò Lucarelli at Museo Pietro Canonica a Villa Borghese, Rome, took place from May 05, 2021, to Jun 20, 2021.
For her debut solo show in Italy back in 2021, artist Maria Nitulescu conceived a sensorial installation at the Museo Pietro Canonica a Villa Borghese in Rome. Curated by Niccolò Lucarelli, and promoted by Roma Culture, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, the exhibition, titled “The Factum – A Reality of Space and Time,” transformed the museum space with a symphony of sound, light, and scent. Through a captivating blend of sensory elements, including plaster casts infused with a custom scent by master perfumer Geza Schön, Nitulescu invited visitors to explore the boundaries of perception and reality. Drawing inspiration from the observations of psychologist and philosopher Paul Watzlawick, the exhibition challenged viewers to contemplate the nature of memory, perception, and the construction of reality. This immersive experience offered a profound journey into the depths of human consciousness.
